Quran Education For School

Quran Education for Schools

A team of Islamic scholars, curriculum experts and research associates of Quran Education carried out a comprehensive analysis of the needs and challenges of the schools across Pakistan towards the teaching of the Quran. They designed a comprehensive curriculum of Quran Education in schools aiming that the students will be able to understand Quran at the end of their secondary level education without having any translation support. Benchmarks and learning outcomes are designed along with each developmental level and grade level of school education.

The curriculum helps students memorize the often repeated words in the Quran, from Salah, short surahs and duas which most of them already know. Thus, a sizeable portion of the memorizing is done already by the students, and one has to remember and relate the meanings of the words only. Besides these sets of the phrases, which make up to 70% of the Quranic text, the curriculum helps the students to learn grammar, using a very interactive method of learning, named ‘Total Physical Interaction’ (TPI). The TPI physically involves learners in the learning process of the different forms of verbs, nouns, and pronouns. One of the most distinguishing features of this course is its foundation on the common recitations instead of the selections rarely used in everyday life. It is but natural to start the teaching of Arabic using them. Every day in Salah, a Muslim repeats almost 150 to 200 Arabic words or around 50 sentences. By understanding these sentences, he/she can familiarize himself/herself with the structure of the Arabic language quickly.
